The 2 1/2 storey high wooden Paul Revere house is where Paul Revere was living when he set out on his historic midnight ride to Lexington on April 18 1775, during the Revolutionary War. The house was built in the 1680’s and is the oldest standing house in downtown Boston. Paul Revere sired 16 children from his two wives and supported his huge family with his prosperous and successful silversmith’s trade. Today the house serves as a museum and amongst the items on display is the famous Revere silver.
